Lukla Flight Information

There could be minor changes to the short trek Everest itinerary, especially during peak trekking seasons (March, April, May, October, and November). During these months, due to traffic congestion, the flight to Lukla will depart from Ramechhap/Manthali instead of Kathmandu. As a result, trekkers will need to adjust their plans accordingly. The journey typically takes about 4 to 5 hours, so it’s important to plan ahead.

During other times of the year, however, the flight will originate from Kathmandu, offering a more direct route. As previously mentioned, the shortest route to Everest Base Camp (EBC) begins from Lukla. This trail covers a distance of 53 kilometers (33 miles) each way, meaning trekkers will cover the same distance on their return. Therefore, the total distance for the shortest trek to Everest Base Camp amounts to 106 kilometers (66 miles), ensuring a challenging yet rewarding adventure.
