Kori and Kapuche Lakes Trek – A 7-Day Himalayan Adventure

Kori Trek, a hidden gem in the heart of the Annapurna region, has emerged as an exciting new destination for trekkers seeking unspoiled natural beauty and serene landscapes. Nestled in the inner Annapurna conservation buffer zone, Kori Trek takes you through the pristine wilderness of Nepal, offering awe-inspiring views of the majestic Himalayas. Often referred to as the crown jewel of Sikles and Tangting villages, this trek promises an unforgettable experience far from the well-trodden paths of Annapurna Base camp and the Mardi Himal trek.

A Journey Through the Unexplored

Kori Trek is situated at an altitude of 3,800 meters above sea level, and it is a relatively undiscovered trekking route, offering basic tea house accommodations. The journey unfolds through spectacular landscapes, serene eco trails, dense rhododendron forests, and challenging ascents. One of its remarkable features is the lush green pastures that come to life during the monsoon season, making it a haven for cattle from nearby Sikles and Tangting villages. Moreover, these pastures remarkably contrast with the surrounding landscapes. Offering a picturesque scene for trekkers. Additionally, the vibrant greenery during this time adds to the overall charm and beauty of the area. Consequently, visiting during the monsoon season allows you to witness this natural spectacle in its full glory.

Rich Culture and Tradition

Historically, this region has been inhabited primarily by Ghale and Gurung ethnic who practice Buddhism and Bon Po, a nature-centric spiritual tradition. The distinct cultures and languages of the Gurung and Ghale communities add a rich layer of cultural diversity to your trekking experience.

Dudh Pokhari Holy Lake

As you traverse the Kori Trek, you’ll discover alternative routes leading to Syange and eventually connecting to the famous Annapurna Circuit. Along the way, you’ll encounter Dudh Pokhari Lake, a sacred body of water frequented by pilgrims, especially during the Janaipurnima festival held on the Full Moon Day in September. Moreover, Dudh Pokhari Lake graces the northeast side of Kori Hill, adding a spiritual dimension to your journey. Additionally, the beauty of the lake and its surroundings is a peaceful respite for trekkers. Therefore, exploring the Kori Trek offers both adventure and spiritual enrichment, adding a unique dimension to your journey.
